As the event progresses into the 3rd hour since it started at 3:00pm, only 4 games have concluded in the International Section and all ended in amicable draws - Table 15 between brothers Yit San and Yit Ho, Table 16 between Malaysian Ladies WFM Alia Anin Azwa Bakri and Camilia Johari, Table 3 match between GM Deepan and GM Laxman both of India and Table 4 between FM Hamdani Rudin of Indonesia and top seed GM Arun Prasad of India.


All other 14 games are currently in progress including the game between locals IM Mas against Asian Masters Ahmad Fadzil Nayan.

WFM Alia Anin Azwa Bakri of Melaka

On the Challenger section, top table leader Abdul Rahim Ramli trounced his much younger opponent Muhd Murshid in 12 moves whilst early favorites and top seed Eddy Fong won his game against Muhd Asyraf in 38 moves. Unrated Gatot Suyono of Indonesia continued his fine run by beating Melakan Muhd Salimin on the 3rd table.
